Today we’re going to look at yoga for digestion. Yoga is just about the most diverse form of exercise there is as there are yoga asanas for just about every situation. Aside from being highly beneficial to your health, the best thing about yoga is that it’s portable: All you need is yourself and a mat. In fact, even the yoga mat is optional if you find yourself without it. Find yourself a nice dry, flat surface, and you’re good to go.
The way that yoga is used to aid with digestion is to follow a number of asanas or sequences which promote the massaging of your internal organs. As a rule of thumb, you should wait at least an hour after eating prior to doing any yoga (unlike what your mother used to tell you about waiting an hour before swimming, which is a myth). You really don’t want to be doing yoga on a full stomach.
